Our reindeer rawhide is very high quality and is ideal for making drums. It is very thin and feels more supple to the touch than goat or deer rawhide. The thickness is approximately 1/16" thick for all sizes.
Sizes may vary slightly from skin to skin. The Small rawhide measure, on average, 49" long, 26" wide at the shoulders, 27" wide at the middle, and 39" wide at the bottom.
Rawhide is also referred to as parchment or vellum.

Reindeer are not an endangered species. The reindeer are raised by the Lapp in Finland. The hides we get are a by-product of the food industry. The animal was not killed just for its hide. Not subject to CITES controls.
